Have you ever felt generous after getting a raise or new job - and take your girl out for dinner for just that reason?
You may wish to reserve the most special restaurants for the truly special occasions (e.g. Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries), but that doesn't mean there aren't other nice, quality places where you can enjoy a tasty, romantic evening.
A full-course meal at the latter kind of restaurant is what Strikeforce : Miami (January 30, 10 PM ET - Showtime) feels like. The card is packed with big names, including must-see MMA attractions Nick Diaz and Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos.
Between these two, I'm especially looking forward to Diaz's fight, because he'll be fighting DREAM welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis for the first-ever Strikeforce title.
The other three big names - Robbie Lawler, Bobby Lashley and former NFL star Herschel Walker - may not be as big as Diaz or Cyborg, but having three names like that in addition to the main attractions makes me drool.
The powerful, brawling Lawler is a proven recipe, but I think it's especially interesting to see how Lashley's MMA is progressing - and whether the 47-year old Walker's long-time martial arts training can carry him as a professional fighter.
A generous dinner complete with appetizer, meat, pasta, wine and desert has been set to kick off 2010.
