"Gonna Fly Now" by the Rocky Orchestra
I love a good underdog story. I love how the puncher's chance can actually come true.
However, I also believe that all the stars must align for a monumental upset to happen. All the celestial forces on course to collide in November's mega fights doesn't include astrological fortune for Brett Rogers.
At 6-5 and at least 265 lbs, Brett Rogers is huge and his one-punch knockout power is as impressive as his frame. However, his skill is rudimentary on all ends of the spectrum, and in spite of his ability to knock opponents out, I think it's more likely that he finds himself on the receiving end of Fedor's sambo casting punch.
In Rocky Balboa, the creeky senior citizen version of Rocky puts up a surprisingly tough fight against the virile and powerful Mason Dixon.
But I don't see a competitive fight - much less a dramatic upset - happening.
Brett Rogers doesn't have the technical striking nor the elusive mobility required to keep Fedor at bay and pick him apart at opportune moments.
He will be in for a rude awakening, and see how quick Fedor is stunning and finishing his opponents. I think Fedor will either connect with a punch or set up a takedown with his striking, pound Rogers and then put a submission hold on him.
This will be Fedor-Sylvia all over again.
Fedor Emelianenko over Brett Rogers in Round 1, via submission.
