Machine vs. Beast | SCRIPT FIGHTING

I love the underlying Machine vs. Beast theme of UFC 107 (December 12 - 10 PM ET, Pay-Per-View), next month's mega fight event.

BJ Penn, Frank Mir and Kenny Florian are well-oiled fighting machines with solid fundamentals. They will each be fighting three beasts from the wilderness : Diego Sanchez, Cheick Kongo and Clay Guida, respectively.

1. In particular, I think it'll be a treat to see how the smooth all-around skills of BJ Penn fare against the physical gifts of Diego Sanchez, whose size and strength make him a specimen in the 155 lb weight class. Penn vs. Sanchez will be for the UFC lightweight title.

2. And in spite of suffering a beating at the hands of the monster Brock Lesnar in his previous fight, Frank Mir brings his improving striking arsenal and always strong jiu-jitsu to the fore against Cheick Kongo, who is potentially explosive, if limited.

3. Lastly, I highly recommend that you keep an eye on Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida. Florian, as you may know, is an agile striker with a guile ground game, while Guida both fights and looks the beast with the wild energy and hair.
