November Rain | SCRIPT FIGHTING

presented by BabesInKorea.com

Perhaps you can say the same of fight events in general, but the mega fights of November 2009 carried plenty of shock and awe.

The biggest was Manny Pacquiao's drubbing of Miguel Cotto on November 14. Cotto is a great fighter, but Pacman gave him an absolute schooling and a total beatdown. Who would've thought that the Filipino legend would've made such brutal work of a bigger man?

The fight itself may have turned out to be a one-sided beating, but seeing a master at work was awe-inspiring.

On November 7, relative newbie Brett Rogers gave "The Last Emperor" Fedor Emelianenko a surprisingly good fight, but Fedor's knockdown (essentially a knockout) punch of Rogers was, as commentated during the broadcast, "the shot heard around the world."

While I think Fedor certainly looked beatable during the fight, what I'm not going to doubt anymore is his one-punch knockout power.

Lastly, I was surprised by Muay Thai extraordinaire Jose Aldo's secret weapon - black belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - in WEC 44. The 23-year old had his moments as a striker during the fight, but his takedown, lockdown and pounding of the bulkier, stronger then-champion Mike Brown was shocking to say the least.
