Derrick Rose will break your heart (if you think he's the future at PG) | MAD BALLIN'

presented by THE CAVEMAN NETWORK

I don't know why the Chicago Bulls and its fans are putting so much of their heart at stake over Derrick Rose being the messiah of the Chicago Bulls. He's a good player, and can be a very good one, but I don't think he's the answer at the point guard position.

I've said it before, but Derrick Rose is a poor man's Steve Francis. (The Rose video doesn't work anymore. If you want to see him in action, check out this). He's not as creative, and can't shoot like him either. He accelerates and has the potential to play defense and fastbreak like Jason Kidd, but his future isn't as a starting point guard in my opinion. At least if you're trying to get the most out of his talents.

I see Rose best being utilized as a third guard who plays starter minutes. Although he can't shoot like Bobby Jackson, he could be a super sixth man and play backup point guard or off the ball as a second ball-handler (but not as a spot up shooter!). That way, a team can get the most out of his athletic and defensive talents and make up for what he can't do (i.e. shoot, pass).

I'm not saying Rose is selfish or not talented, but he's not a floor general. His NBA preseason debut against Dallas reinforced my opinion. His talents are better utilized in other ways. If you want a young talent who will dominate as a true floor general, get Ricky Rubio.

Otherwise, give Derrick Rose a break, would ya?

More NBA debuts!
1. Greg Oden
2. Rudy Fernandez

No, not at all - I'm hardly filled with dumbness.

Derrick Rose is still the slasher whose first instinct is to score.

LOL! Nope. He isn't the Bulls answer at PG. Fool.

Let's not get carried with one playoff game here.

Let's see if he wins a championship down the road.

LOL Face it, you should just admitt when you are wrong the guy is averaging 18 6 7 in the playoffs as a rookie. Won the Skills competition, and has also been named ROY since this article was written.

He's already putting up the same numbers as a 4th year Tony Parker.. Now think about high is ceiling is? Either you just can't admitt that you are wrong, like a man. Or you are just a D-Rose hater just cause.

Dude, I never said Rose wasn't talented. He's a great, borderline phenomenal, talent. I just said he wasn't a real point guard.

For example, I didn't see him pass once in third OT.

So stop trying to pin bogus charges on me like a DA.

That said, that block he had on Rondo was unbelievable - I give you that.

Check back with me after Game 7. Until then, enjoy the game.

3 assists, 3 turnovers in Game 7.

45 assists, 35 turnovers in the series against Boston.

Time for Vinny Del Negro to move Derrick Rose off the ball?
